If you are looking for a place of worship and a faith community in the Des Moines area, we invite you to come and be a part of Heartland Church, where creativity and inclusivity are our means of glorifying God and doing so joyfully.

For eight years, Heartland has enjoyed a close relationship with a poor community in El Salvador called El Tablon. Now we are working with a neighboring community called Cerna as well, working with them to build relationships of listening, trust, and understanding. Heartland member Kathy Mahler has responded to the call to be Interim Mission Co-Worker for the Des Moines Presbytery in El Salvaor. You can read her "blog" as she serves the people of the cantons surrounding Berlin, El Salvador.

OurSisterParish in Berlin, El Salvador, a mission of the Des Moines Presbytery, is working with Finca de Santa Emilia to change the way coffee is sold.

Don Justo Coffee with Dignity exceeds Fair Trade standards. Farmers and roasters are paid a fair wage - roughly three times the market rate. But where this project differs from other Fair Trade coffees is that most of the proceeds from the sales go directly back to the mountain communities surrounding Berlin!

There are several varieties available in either whole bean or ground:

• Dark Roast
• French Roast
• Snickeroo (Hazelnut/cinnamon)
• Vanilla Creme
